i like to go topless at weekends, and the roof ends up in the front room or on the garden. is there a stand you can get abit like the ones for the old merc sl's that bolt to the wall or have the padded bits to stand it upright.

i sure that there must be somat out there.

if not why has no-one invented one.

id buy one and im pretty sure other people would.

i only ask this as the wind blew mine over last time and mildly scratched the top.

Not sure whether it was on this forum but in the past I already suggested to fix a couple of hooks in the garage ceiling and a couple in the wall towards where the car is parked with the nose. That way you can hang the hardtop with the back (largest part) against the wall and have the roof near the ceiling, this way there is no lost space in the garage and you can park your car as usual. Of course the hooks have to be covered by some foam or whatever to prevent damaging the part.
(You see what I mean ??)

oi! tin miner even rocket science int rocket science!!

ah mean a rocket is only a tube wiff some fuel lit inside it! hardly series electronics is it?

my soldering skills are second to non.. almost surgical.

welding well ..............tried... ended up with ark eye.

i could make sumot out of wood im quite good at wood....

I have been mulling this one over for ages - I usually take mine off and end up putting it on the caravan on the drive , only problem is that it is bloody heavy and it only just goes in through the van door.

The snag with making some kind oof hanging device is that there is literally nowhere to hook from on the roof - I have tried every which way and there is no 'lip' to stop the roof from falling off a hook. Probably the best approach is some kind of canvas bag with carrying handles that could double up as hooks.

ha ha... i SURE she'd love to do that.. i wonder if " NO MORE NAILS" works on can ves ??? i have a old car cover that i could hack up and fashion a bag n andles ...... and it won't cost more than a bloody womens handbag.

its going to be a busy weekend for doris!!!!:D

And when it's put 'on' the hooks isn't there a way/possibility to put something inbetween the hooks (piece of wood or strong nylon rope or so) to have the roof support on it ?? Everything is possible, only one thing not, it is totally impossible to take out your pants from above.

Look in the adverts in the LR mags. There is a company that make 'carry bags' for hard tops. I will have a look when I get time and I post the details.

if you modify yer strides you can take them orf anyway you like. so its not totally impossible

Ive been mulling over this for a while, and .... I am considering using bike holders that attach to the roof and you use a pulley system to lift the roof off and store it at height, dunno if anyone has tried this? the bike pulleys were purchased at LIDL so Im hoping they will hold as its damned expensive to replace!!!

Now, I've been mulling this taxing matter over for a while & I reckon a few press studs along a join in the bollock area of yer trollies and if there's enuff give in the lastik y'can tek them off upwards over yer head & rilly impress the gurlz.........well, the gurlz in Cornwall anyways. :D

Gaylander hardtops tho'? Feck knows. Get a soft skip big enuff fer the hardtop, an' the motor too?

Sorry but don't understand "strides", could you (for ming's sake) take a picture of such a modified piece and post it ??;)
