I did do the search option but could not quite get the answer i wanted.

I have a 300tdi 1996 and i am thinking of obviously a roof bar with spots.
I am not sure whether to go for the connecting one to the rails or to the grooves on the side of the roof?
I probably will not do off road but i will do some green laning.

I liked the smaller row of lights going round the front i have seen but can't seem to find the whole kit.
On the other hand i do like the idea of a couple of big spots on a bar connected to the side bars with locks on the side bar.

What experiences to people have and where can i get the correct fitting kits.

Just one question here

WHY?

You are not off roading, only green laning, why do you think you need a light bar?
Just a fashion accessory?

I have one yes, but removable, only fit it when I am out rally marshalling in forests at 2 am etc. to provide extra light for marshall duties, not for driving, my 2 X Hella 3000 100W spots do that job for me

its personal choise weather you want it bolted on the rails or the roof drains, i dont see how you cant find any kits nearly every landrover accessory supplier sells them

Well i don't just for green laning so Ya don't know.

Well i tell ya why i need one... why because i do pest control and they are great for 'Lamping' whilst shooting' . I did not want to put it in in case i offended anyone with such antics' But then i am thoughtful

Just answer the damn question if you can't or don't want just don't post.

???????so its ok for offroading but not green laning....WHY? If you need more light then you need more light, which on a disco you do.

why would you want to go green laning at night - you wont see much of the countryside.

the reason they arent so good when roof mounted is that...
a: you tend to get a lot of glare and reflections.
b: you will catch them on branches.
 
Roof mounted spots illuminate yer bonnet a treat, kinda prohibits you seeing beyond that in the dark though.............but **** it, they do look good & most folks have got something bolted onto their motor that isn't actually much use, but they like the look of it.

That said, Bars IS a mardy ****!
