alryt im getting a role cage made for ma landy next week but dont no how to mount it on the landy as in like it doesnt get conected to chassie it just looks like its bolted onto the aliminuim sides, were do you bolt it onto for the most secureity of the landy if you get me cheers :)

generally you have legs bolted or welded to the chassis which are shaped same as body panel , then these are bolted to the roll cage through the panel. thats why they look like they are bolted to the body. bolting to the body only will give you f**k all protection , if you do roll or whack the cage it will just tear the bolts from the body. who's fabricating it for you ? surely they should have explained to you . look at ppcages web site who make cages. better still tell Noddy and Big ears who are making it and make sure they know what they are doing

Cool Breeze,

If its not bolted or indeed welded to the chassis it is not a valid roll cage more another bling accesory. If you want it to be a valid cage check out the MSA website. It lists the specs it has to conform to:

Certain material specs,
Shape and design,
Minimum height width,

You can obviously change the design and make an all new type but it will need to be submitted for approval in which destruction testing may be carried out and many manufacturers avoid this duer to the high cost of build for tried and tested well know designs.

Check ouy Whitbread-offoad.com £400 you can get a weld in kit for a truck cab that welds to the chassis and conforms to all current msa specs IF you use the correct spreader plates (6mm I think for ARC events).
