rock sliders group buy discovery whos intrested?

been onto a friend of mine who has his own engineering company and i was asking about a pair of rock sliders for my disco. but the ones that have the bar that comes out of the side part to act as a step as well as protect the vehicle from trees etc. pretty much like this

only difference being that where the bar angles front and rear (step part) they may be straight out for simplicity and cost cutting.
any way he said if i can get 10 definate buyers he would do 10 sets at 110 posted per set. they would be painted in 2K jet black.

is anyone intrested? my disco is going in next week for him to do me a set and for him to do drawings and cut off list etc. the cheapest ive seen them is 185 posted for a similar thing to what he will be making.

The sticky out 'steps' are actually tree sliders. The angled bits at the front and rear are crucial in helping deflect any impacts. Without the angles they are pointless.

im glad you told me that lol, i will get him to do them like that then, i never thought about that.

Mmmm, could you see what your mate says about the price. Would these be alright for using a high lift jack on??

spoe to him today and im hoping price will be the same, unsure about jack. would they need holes or anythin in to use a highlift with?

they would be the same price collected mate, he has got a contract with a acourier where he pays a yearly ammount and he posts things as and when he wants (or thats how he explained it)
they will be being manufactured by a company called iron by design. he specializes in gates/railing and market stalls but also takes on jobs of other types.
once he has made the first set and they are bolted up to my motor i will get detailed pics up.

i have been asked about hilift jack holes, he said he could put a piece of tubing through for the use of jacks, would this be suitable guys? there would eb an extra 10 pound charge for this he said.

any news or pics of the sliders yet?

not yet mate, he hasnt measured up my landorver yet, he is very busy at the minute. i have also found out the 3 and 5 door discos have different mouniting points so the ones hes gunna be making will be for 3 door until he gets a 5 door for patterns etc. i will let you all know when he has made the first set

hes gunna need to make patterns from a 5 door to be able to make them, im keeping my eyes peeled for a 5 door skirt/sill thing of one so that he can use that for pattern.

Is the three door length not the same as the five door ?
