Rock An Tree Sliders

aup folks!
well got me new welderer so now i want to make some rock an tree sliders

does any one have some drawings to do it?

it's a disco1

i would like to make heavy duty ones not just bolt on's, you know bolted to the out rigger an welded to the floor.

can you complety remove the sills or would it fail the mot?

You can replace the sills with a length of box section.

what size would i need? is it 80mm x40mm or would bigger be better? an is it a big job to do coz one bloke told me it was a right bastid to do,
would i have to completely grind off the sill and weld to the floor?or do you leave the inner sill in place?

it is a job i need to do coz my steps are now about foked an i'm piissed off keep takin them off to straighten em

Not sure what size 100 x 50 springs to mind?? There's a few threads around on difflock and mudclub. Most peeps leave the inner sill and drill a series of holes in the floor of the disco. and puddle weld. the floor to the box section rather like a series of spot welds.

nice one will have a shufty on difflock an mud club then see what i can find.

found this if anyone wants a go, think i'll use 2x4 instead of 2x2 though, think it will look neater and probably use tubing for tree slidey bits
