morning

miles and miles away from my landy at the moment BUT trying to get the stuff i need to repair a couple of bits that need doing....

seatbox ends and some of the rear tub bulkhead bit(where the seatbelt bracket goes) ....

do i want lazy tongs or a hand rivit gun (or both - as i see it the under tub riviting wont be possible with a lazy tong without taking out a fair chunk of the car)

what size of rivits and what material do you normally use.

- damn alu - least with steel i know where i stand with repairing it :D - hit it with a hammer , if it fails grind it out and weld it ! this oxide pish is gash !
 
I feel quite offended!
1/8 or 3/16 rivets should do, length to suit. A hand riveter with a swivelling head is best.

i did find out shortly after i posted this that if you spell rivet correctly in the search bar it returns lots of useful info .... where as rivits just results in the return of gibberish :doh:- i shall go look for rivet guns with swiveling heads the now.

any good? im no rivet counter - im sure ill get away with the metric equivalent in alu rivet without getting a jabby stick in the eye from the die hards.....

now to assemble the rest of my list at paddocks on the nightshift one the worlds slowest satelite connection ! - do you think my girlfriend would kill me if i ordered some series 3 doors and a safari door as well as the mot stuff (they were a good price dear!!! the house we are saving for can wait :D )
 
yes those look awesome james but at 60 quid they are out of budget for this job , ive tried convincing my dad he needs one for his workshop as he has a compresor .....

next year once i get out of the rented **** box im in and have a garage ill be investing in my own compressor - the number 2 most important tool of the landrover owner it would seem !
