On a practical note do his family know that the forum he posted on those of us who met him enjoyed his sense of humour and company and is there anything we can do as a forum?

As far as I know yes his wife knew, i know his son went on a lanin trip, iirc the bakewell run.

Eta.. think doin anythin as a forum .. bit early just yet.

He has 2 sons, the one on the trip was about 15 don't know if the other is older or younger.

Just a thought, with dad gone would his wife and kids come to LZ so as to carry on a tradition, hobby etc

Family friendly as we are

Just bin and found some piccies from laning with Freddie at the Bouncing Bakewell Bash. The silver 90 is his.

And one of Freddie and his lad pig herding.

Very sad news, gutting :( my thoughts are with all of his nearest and dearest..
such a lovely guy x

Just an idea...what say we all look for any photos we have of freddy ( not his car ) and pop them on here and we can copy them and get them printed up in a book for his wife and boys.

Im sure I have pictures of him from first years bristol and west show and also of the evening bash after the chippie run ...will try to find where they are stored on my computer.

As all that have met him have already said James was an absolutely top bloke who despite his illness still supported Landyzone at all gatherings. I for one feel priviliged to have known the man. My thoughts go to his family right now, this will be a very tough time for them.
As Sam mentioned, just a few weeks ago James was planning to be at LZ11 despite knowing the depth of the situation that he was in. When I heard of that I felt proud to know that the people of this Forum meant so much to him. I'm sure I have a photo or 2 so will post them when I can.

R.I.P Freddie, you will be sadly missed.

Not the best but Freddie looks very pleased with Dan for doing a little wiring job on the 90 @ Eastnor in 2013
