I've found a defender 110 for sale after getting my hands burnt before ,,,,wats the best way o check if its not a ringer part from the usual vin checks chassis checks etc its had a 300 tdi fitted looks ok I've glanced around the vin numbers chassis number is there it's from a private house the numbers all match up is there any more I can ???? Hpi is not always correct any help appreciated thanks
 
Vins, engine numbers, look carefully for signs of tampering on the numbers (check chassis too)
With defenders know the subtle changes in design from model to model (not many, but there are some), use the VIN to check what body it was when it left the factory. if its got any service history, check it out, you can also get a previous owners list off the DVLA for a small fee.
 
Cheers I've just checked the vin it come up as 110 station wagon was previously petrol but converted to heavy oil (300tdi) I've found the chassis number bit faint but it's there the vin looks like it's not been touched there's no window tag as 1985 engine number is there and same on v5 the owner is happy for me to get it checked out via any means but cheers for the help

As you've already had your fingers burnt and had the police seize your previous landy maybe you can ask them to go through it with a fine tooth comb for you as they did with your previous one?
 
Nope it doesn't cover it !!!! I did ask the same copper to check it to which he smirked so that's. a no but I'm sure if I buy it he will be straight round

does the RAC have better access to Information that joe public cant get ?

I know they have access to a data base, but the reason I ask,
is when I broke down with alternator failure last year, the known RAC man from norfolk could not seem to find out my correct as fitted alternators part number/size/description from the other end of a phone..

seems no one knew what was fitted.
(was a standard J plate diesel alternator) ---------Dohhhh its not hard is it.... ;)



but after all that, we still pay for 5 family members to be covered for roadside plus recovery,
done so for years....

No you keep reporting me that's easier or if you get admin to delete my details that would be good as I've messaged several time trying to get my user details removed untill then ummm nope ill still be here maybe you could jog off somewhere chop chop

It's not going to happen. There is not deleting details here. You're here for life, so play nice and make some friends. You must have some redeeming qualities, so tell us a little about yourself. Any hobbies or do you like puppies??
 
No straight up ,,,,if you have a way off getting deleted or blocked banned etc and my details removed that would be good as I can't seem to get a response to get details removed no I have dogs not puppies !!!!! But if you keep reporting me that would do me a favour

Your juvenile behavior is unlikely to illicit any favours on your part.

Do you wait until they are no longer puppies to procure your dogs? Or did you just blank out their early days?
