Morning All,

My names Rich, i was on this forum a few years ago under the name V8_Disco. I had to sell my pride and joy to fund a house purchase, now after 4 years I was finally in a position to replace it!

I bought this 300Tdi 3dr unseen off eBay  and when I picked it up it was clear it had not been looked after in a long time, a few hundred shot gun and .22 cardridges later and I managed to clean all the rubbish out along with the interior to assess the damage. The chassis and boot floor are sound, but the rear arches, foot wells and front arches all need replacing. There are some good parts which will be kept like the front winch bumper, winch, wheels and snorkel.

The plan is to strip it down to a bare chassis, have it shot blasted and then rebuild it back up using all new/refurbished parts. Nearly all the work is being done by me and my dad, I went to Harper Adams University and have a degree in Engineering, my dad owned a Series III years ago so we aren't strangers to working on Landrovers :)

nice work mate, looks as though it should keep u busy for a while, lol

am also looking to get a disco 2 300 td5 , going Dutch with my son as a project car,

also wish to remove the body, sort all the rolling chassis out etc , then build it back up, mine may take at least a year to do , but should learn loads

good luck with the rest and will follow this with Ernest

Been ages since I have updated this, and tbh I haven't done much. The Disco has been sat for a few months as I've been pretty busy with our 6 week old and the chassis is about a 30min drive from my house.
Its now stripped completely and ready to have a small amount of repair work done, I have also started to get together all the bits that are going to be shot blasted along with the chassis (A frame, exhaust hangers, trailing arms, axle casings etc)
