Have just had to order a new rf reciever....

Can anyone tell me if they are made of precious metals or something

Precious Land Rover metals. Actual cost to make less than £15, add the 1200% Land Rover mark up and you have the list price:rolleyes: It's a propriety item.

It may be possible to modify a standard 435Mhz receiver to do the job but I don't have the time to find out at the moment what is required to interface to the BECM.

Bet the chinks could make em for less than a fiver. Come to think of it they probably do, for Land rover. :D:D:D

I did say less than £15:D They could be made for a couple of quid if the volumes were sufficient.:D:D:D

Mate of mine years ago worked for a concrete pumping firm. He went to the Bush i think it was factory to do some costing for them. Was given a tour, on the way round he noticed a tele like his, a Finlandia i think. He was told they left the factory complete for £15.00. He paid £300.00 for his. Happy days.
