Hi all,

Need your help (again!). My husband's P38 is a 4.0 petrol/lpg automatic. At the moment it seems to be revving up to 4000 before moving up a gear. We're having to use it in petrol mode & he's only getting 10mpg out of it so costing a fortune to run! Anybody got any ideas as to what the problem could be and how to fix it? We're meant to be taking the kids to Disney Paris in it next week so could really do with having it sorted!

Many thanks in advance, Naomi

Somebody pressed the sport button? Otherwise check the oil level in the autobox. I can't see why that should affect running on gas.
If you are taking the car to Paris, there are a lot of tunnels that are prohibited to vehicles running on LPG.

Hi Datatek,

Thanks for your comments. No the sports button hasn't be pressed so will get our mechanic to check oil levels. (I just try to get info on here and pass to our friend who is a mechanic).

Oh no about Paris!!! We've already had to go by boat instead of eurotunnel because of lpg. Sorry to sound thick but are they on the motorway or in the centre of Paris. I think we go motorway all the way until we reach Disney.

Thanks for the warning!

Several on the motorways around Paris, you will see signs that look a bit like a car on fire. Of course you can take a chance and hope you get away with it. Expensive if you are stopped for a check though. Watch your speed, there now a lot of cameras with no warnings and mobile units. €90 if they stop you, lose you car if you are 50Km per hour over the limit.

Check that the throttle cable is not set to tight. And that throttle position sensor is set and functioning correctly.
