reverse lights

anyone got any ideas,i have just noticed that my td4 2002 reverse lights are not coming on when the reverse gear is selected, the fuse is okay hence the brake lights work fine,i recently had to have a passenger drive shaft fitted by landrover,could they have dislogged anything. :confused:
 
have you checked the bulbs? possible they could have blown at seperate times but you only just noticed?
 
to see if its ur reverse switch works see if your hdc works wen you put it in reverse ie, you know then ccu gettin reverse signal
 
when you press the hdc switch with neutral selected the green car will be flashing on the instrument pack, then when you select 1st or reverse the green light will go solid if all is ok :)
 
just done what you said LR GUY in 1st gear it goes solid but in reverse it stays flashing what could the problem be
 
ok you now know that there is no reverse gear signal, this is more than likely going to be a faulty switch, only two wire to the switch and it operates ok in 1st so would think wiring is ok,
what engine u got ,if 1.8 then switch is at front lower of gearbox
 
getrag gearbox, memory gone as to where the switch is but going on what we spoke about that looks like it the problem, maybe you might get more input from others on site :) clutchdust knows his stuff he might be able to help on location
