Here i think
me doris aint made me a cuppa yet so my head aint werkin at the moment, but basically it wont werk, multimeter is showing i,ve got me 12 volts withit in gear ignition on at the bulb holder but bulb will not light up(bulbs good checked it)
with the engine running with reverse gear engaged(transfer box neutral)its showing 3 volts:confused: and obviously still wont light up:(
so basically anyone got any ideas?it was working fine till the other day when i removed the lense to change the bulb and found the live terminal touching the earth:eek: cooked the switch? goosed wiring? i,ll probably figure it later but any ideas for now mite help me get my head round it and think a bit better

If you have 12v at the bulb holder are you sure you have a good earth for the bulb, it could also be that you are getting 12v but there is a bad connection and it is not able to pull enough current to light the filament.

When the engine is on you only have 3v? Hmm does sound like a bad connection.

yeah , either a bad connection at either end or a bad earth, if the live to the bulb holder is corroded it will give yer a bad reading , as will bad earthing, does some weird things bad earths !
