I never heard of these. What do they do?
mirrors?
Help you see behind you!
Lol

No sorry had to do it
Some models of p38 had dipping wing mirrors that tilted down to see the road when reversing there controled by pentometers that give feed back to the becm so it can align them to a preset position! however 14+ years on the elements have had there way with them and damaged them

On reflection, I see what you mean.

Oh. I have a p38 DSE Autobiography 2001. Should it have these or not?

Oh. I have a p38 DSE Autobiography 2001. Should it have these or not?
Dse autobiography? Its one or the other! dse was the middle of the range but the autobiography was one of the top (mostly custom built)(definitely will have dipping mirrors)
As for dse if it has memory seats probably has got dipping mirrors but to find out start car stick it in reverse then press and hold one of the memory buttons for 2-3seconds If it has it you should get a message saying "mirror set" if there manual seats then definitely not and its not autobiography eather

Ah, sorry. It's Autobiography, not DSE according to the logbook. But it doesn't have memory seats. I've not noticed anything about dipping mirrors. Is there a disable button somewhere that I can look for?

It possibly won't have memory/auto dip mirrors if it doesn't have memory seats.

From what I remember, the memory positions for the mirrors is stored in the seat outstation - along with the memory positions for the seats - as opposed to being stored in the BECM. I presume this is also the case for the memory or the 'dip' position.

The disable/enable button is usually the 'Memory' button on the drivers seat - when the vehicle is put in reverse - by pressing/holding the 'Memory' button for 2s will toggle the auto dip on/off.

It cant be an autobiography? only petrol cars were badged as vogues an autobiograhy's. #Think hes been sold up the swanny lol. its easy to stick a new badge on and change details on the v5.

Strange. Have you got the special build plate on slam panel? Autobiography should heavily specced as they are made to.order.

Mine is a DHSE but does not have electric seats or a sun roof. BMW cars are kit cars, you add and subtract the items you want/don't want when you order, this also applied the the Range Rover while BMW owned it seems.
