Rev counter fitting help 3.9

Please help
How do I fit a rev counter do a 3.9 auto set up into my defender
I am told the ones on eBay won't fit the rover v8, any one done this or can tell me which one will fit and how to wire it up

they can either take the signal from the W connector on the alternator or from the coil -ve terminal pulses.

the other two wires are a ground and a live.

there are a few videos on youtube

they do work on on the rv8 from the coil- I have one on my 2 door rrc

Most counters on eBay say will not work on rover v8 engines which counter can any one recommend

wherdja get that from? I bought the cheapest one I could find off of eBay, it's a 4-6-8 switchable 32mm TIM one and cost about 30 quid. Wire it in like it says in the destructions and job's a goodun. Mine's on an SD1 engine.

as said, comes off the coil -ve with a life feed off the fusebox and a ground.

is yours fake carbon fiber? mine is with a cheesy blue light lol

still it works well for map readin as interior lights still on the bench lol

carbon fibre? blue lights? in a 'orrible brown P6? I say!
