have you done your binnacle yet if your stuck im only over in aberdare and went through the whole changing of binnacles thing not so long back to sort a speedo issue. be more than willing to drive over the hill to give you a hand should you need it. from memory i believe the only tool you will need is a phillips screwdriver, remove the steering column surround and then there are 2 pain in the butt screws to get out at the bottom of the clock surround. then its 4 easy screws holding the clocks in place and i think its 3 connectors for the wires on the back.
At last I'm am mobile ready to remove binnacle.
Question: After removing screws from (2) binnacle is the binnacle a snap fit, do not wish to damage surround being ham fisted. Do you need a pry tool to part the plastic fittings?

there are 2 screws in the steering surround, then 2 for the binnacle surround and that pulls off towards you can be a bit stiff, then there are 4 screws 2 each side on the binnacle itself. then it lift up slightly before coming forward.

At last fitted the binnacle today everything working, the warning light for the glow plugs stopped working, turned out to be dirty contacts on the relay. Everything working now to fix the droopy headlining. Looked underneath (Boot, arches and sills replaced 2.5 yrs ago)also and all is looking fine apart from a little surface rust near rear axle. A little rub down and a judicious coating of jencolite should cure it then some galv paint. Not bad for a 21 yr old disco.
Read today that all land rover models from 2020 will be available as "hybrid". Example given that a Range Rover will have a range of """THIRTY miles""" (on electric) very useful indeed.
