Can anyone help please.
Following hospitalisation (me not the car!), my P38 (51 plate) has not been driven for the past two months. No surprise the battery was flat, having started it with jump leads I have all the warning messages showing up on the dashboard (re: windows, doors etc etc).
As I've had to surrender my licence to the DVLA because of medical reasons I'm gutted that I can't drive for at least the next 6 months and therefore might as well sell her.:(
Can you tell me how to re-set this message display, rather than get her taken to a garage
Thanks in anticipation
Derek

If it is just windows and sunroof you can just open and close each one fully including tilt/sliding the sunroof and the faults should clear themselves.

If it is showing key code lockout you may need to get the EKA code from your local stealer

Thanks Bobbler - that was a quick reply!:clap2:

I'll have a go at that and see if it works - if not I might have to pick your brains on what to do with an EKA code.

The EKA code is 4 numbers which you put in using your door key in drivers door, starting clockwise with the first number and turning key, numbers of times fully to the right,,,,,, if no is 3 then it is 3 full turns clockwise, second number anticlockwise, third no clockwise,,, fourth no anticlockwise and then turn clockwise once to open door,,,,,,, this should reset locking system and imobiliser
if this doesnt work then pray
just paid £225.41 for new drivers door locking system,,,,,,,,,, have more faults now than when i started
good luck

av a go at mine... i tried and failed but rather than spend silly money im gonna live with locking/unlocking by ond

mmmm, what did you do? i just took it apart, connected it to car and twiddled the insides till it ran freely again, packed it with vaseline and it worked!

stripped it right down and fiddled with it, mite have another go but this time put a direct current to the motor see if it works

did you plug it in and operate the key fob? did anything move? if not then try it, theres a motor and poteniometer(i think thats what it is) if the motor is dead just get another similar one, i'm sure they are common types, dunno if its 12v or not so i would start with a 1.5v battery and work up to a 9v you can use an old tv remote as a battery holder and just jam some wires in to put to the motor!

if you replace the motor let us know what you destroyed to get the correct motor!

i didnt plug it in and test i just refitted it. i'll let u know. ta for the ideas

you will need to learn a few tricks or end up replacing stuff that can be repaired quite easily and not so much bodged as refurbished!

same here, fortunately my stepdad was a bit of a backyard bodger and i learnt alot, i was under cars from an early age and he was always fixing things whilst watching corrie in the front room!
