Hi All

Just got my first Landy - 1983 110 V8 CSW

The gearbox needs replacing, it drives OK but is pretty unbearble noise wise, sounds like a bag of spanners in a tumble drier.

It's an LT95 4 speed, I want to do a straight replacement, however I want to make it a bit leggier in the process. Can I change the transfer box for a different one??

Also anyone got a spare box they want to flog??

Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
SK

you cant change the transfer box as its all one unit main and transfer. i'm pretty sure there 2 gears in the transfer box which you can swap with eachother for a higher ratio. this is what i have been told naver had mutch to do with these boxes to be honest. very strong though and tend to last a long time.

This was one of the reasons i did my swap (Did engine and gearbox) it just didny have the legs! If i were you id look into a 5 speed compatable gearbox....... Yes the LT95 is proberly 'bomb proof' but im now so greatfull of my new fith gear....... and engine LOL

I might be wrong (Someone will soon put it right if it is) But im pretty sure with a bit of jiggery pockery the R380 gearbox will work with the V8.

i currently have a 4 speed LT95 v8 gearbox sat down in my unit that i dont want anymore, i belive its in good condition but cant be sure as i bought it along with a v8 that was a project that never started...
