replacing sills with rock sliders.

well its come to the time of sill replacement on my 200tdi disco. The way im going to do this is not the usual way, but to replace the sills with rock/tree sliders. Now the question on my mind is can i cut the sills out and replace the sills with the rock/tree sliders. i have had a brief look at the body mounts and i believe they could be on their way out, if they are can i replace them and weld the rock/tree sliders to the body mounts and chassis ?
Help me please.

just replace sills with 60mm x 100mm box section. thats the usual trick. covered many times before. :search:.

I'm replacing my sills then fitting chassis mounted sliders, was worried that if I came down to hard on a rock it would push the body off the chassis.

well ive only got 80 x 40mm box. i suppose it will have to do. if i do weld the box to the mounts, i may have to weld some more plate on to the back and then it will be able to be weldable. like i said the body mounts need replacing so will mate these up as and when.
