Hi, my lcd has gone funny on my dash. Most of the pixels have gone. I have managed to get a new one but I wondered how hard it would be for me to fit this myself? If it is a hard job and you don't recommend me taking this on myself.
Then wondered If there is anyone out there that knows how to do this and would like to do it for me? I would be more than happy to come to you and let you do it. Just let me know how much.

I live nr Maidstone in Kent.
Thanks
Rod

Again, P38 message centre part, L322 Message Centre or the full LCD dash from the Later L322's ???

Model and Year are very important, Range Rover has been in production now for 45 years with many models, engines, equipment and changes in that time.....devil is in the detail.

Again thanks. You can't tell at all that I'm new can you.
It's a 2003 autobiography. It's the lcd that is under the speedo.
Thanks
Rod

There are a few places in the UK that will do a next day service on the LCD for the earlier L322's....

The process is to replace the LCD contact strip as they do wear out and go brittle.....

It is possible to do this yourself, but the trickiest part is getting the needles off the dials, if your lucky they'll slide off the spindles easily, but more often then not, they can just pull the whole spindle and spring out of the drive motor and then its fecked.....

I have a series of photos somewhere of the process, which I will have to upload at some point, but they are at home and I am on holiday at the moment so will be a few days....if you are not mechanically minded ,then I'd advise getting a company to do it as it is fiddly and the possibility of bricking the dash binnacle is moderately high!

Do a google search as there are many companies that will do the repair for about £99....some advertise on ebay too.....

Hi Rod,
I have a RR vogue 04. 4.4v8.
Brought the repair to do it myself as you could not read the messages.
Had a look at the instructions and gave up.
Sent it away for £89 and they replaced the defective strip. Took about a week to send it to them, 48hour test and they then sent it back, so if its your only transport it can take longer unless you take it in and wait.
I brough the repair parts for £20, you can have them for £15inc postage if you want it as it is in the garage gatering dust and mine is now fixed.
I work in Madistone !, live nr Tenterden

Hi thanks, I already have a new lcd replacement part. Just need it fitted.
Thanks for your offer.

I done both the dash cluster and radio myself, its pretty straight forward. Imo the dash cluster was the easier of the two, slightly nerve racking as you have to drill a couple of holes in behind to expose some hidden screws but other than that very straight forward

Fair enough, the kit I brought it said you had to hence I did (you didnt have to remove the needles etc). Worked fine though so happy with the end results.

In a word no, I done it last year and brought the ribbon from AK speedo, you need to log onto their website with a password for the instructions.
From memory there are 2 small screws which are hidden under the plastic rear cover hence the drilling. I'll find the seller on ebay as from memory thats where I brought the new ribo.

Rod, this is the link to getting one of the end caps off the dash and the opposite end is basically the same. Download rave manual, sorry not sure of the most recent site, on how to get the rest of the dash out but its basically all of the bolts you can see along the top and behind the speaker from memory.
