Replacing a TD5 ECU ?

I have currently some running issues with my defender 110 TD5, a local LR specialist has diagnosed ECU issues (current ECU is MSB000080) and suggested replacing it with a later one (NNN500020) which will have the ability to update the fuel map as and when required.
I have found a new boxed ECU NEVER BEEN FITTED TO A VEHICLE.
my question is can the new ECU be installed using a Hawkeye diagnostic reader or is it a job for a more advanced piece of kit?
 
Can be installed at home. Far as I know you just need to code the injectors and 10as. I know a nanocome can do it, not sure about a hawkeye.

The NNN ecu is better but you can solder a chip onto the msb ecu to enable mao flashing

What I am not sure about is if a new ECU would have the fuel map installed or if a dealer would need to load it on installation.
 
I now have in my hands a new boxed ECU unit for my 2001 TD5 defender.
The ECU was purchased against the vin number of my vehicle and I was told that between my original unit MSB000080 and the new one there has been five newer versions the new one is NNN500020.
I am able to use the Hawkeye to programme the injector codes but that is about my limit, but willing to learn.
Can anyone talk me through the installation of the new ECU please, I will be using an Hawkeye diagnostic tool.
