Hi, has anyone used a Paddocks rear crossmember? Was wondering what the quality is like.

I can get the short extension version delivered from Paddocks for 30% less than my local landy specialist quoted (brookwells)

just wondering like

Anyone else think that clive should publicly post his prices when this subject comes up? Or is it just me? Cos I've seen loads of satisfied customers saying that his crossmembers and work are second to none and I'm just wondering if people would steer clear of all the cheap nasty options if they knew that pressbrakes work was actually very affordable and well worth the money.
I think when I asked someone about it before they said it was only a couple of hundred pounds for a supply and fit. At that price I would quite happily drive to essex for one.
C'mon clive don't be shy, it ain't spamming you've been here long enough now :D

Last week I cut off four britpart x members that had failed early due to rusting out and had been nailed on badly by lr specialists:eek:

I fitted a Britpart one (the Paddocks one) to mine a while ago, it was ****e and took so much time to adjust that it would have been better to spend more first time round. The weld quality was poor, the steel was the thickness of tin foil and it didn't fit the vehicle properly.

Buy one from Pressbrake.

It's up to Clive how he runs his business .. and how much work he can take on, or wants to take on .. if he doesn't want to publicise prices that's up to him.

Frankly, with the feedback he gets, it sounds like he gets enough work to keep him going and enough through LZ to offer 'us' cheaper parts occasionally .. and long may that continue!

Personally I want some bits off him, like the -2" front turrets, but can't afford them even at knock-down prices, so I'm waiting till I can .. then I'll contact him, it's a no-brainer. I'd mostly rather wait a bit and buy good stuff than really skint myself and buy cheap ****e ..

Another +1 for Clive
He just put a new one on my 110 and allowed me to hang around and get in the way for the day
Definitely 1st class work
Even the guy at the MOT commented on the quality of the crossmember and the workmanship

I know ive said it here before but - another one for clive.

I had mine galvanised before fitting it on the driveway. Galvanising was a bit OTT to be honest. The thing it so thick the rest of the chassis will be dust before this thing rots! Looks pretty though.
