L322 Replacement of height sensor causing problems with suspension- any advice please?

I recently had a air suspension inactive fault on my 4.4 l322. On inspection the front right height sensor had become disconnected on the arm and had corroded on the hinge.

I purchased a replacement online, wasn't official LR but reviews seemed fine and plenty had been sold. Fitted it with my local garage last week for £60 and they couldn't calibrate the ride level correctly with their software. They measured each corner correctly on multiple attempts but after 5 mins of driving the front lifted up to its highest setting and the air suspension inactive error came back. They suggested a full new calibration with someone with the official Land Rover software rather than the snap on system they use.

I paid for a full calibration this morning with the official system for £50. They got the car level but state the new sensor isn't right and shows a fault with it.

I'm assuming either the sensor is faulty or that the aftermarket option for it just isn't right and it will need replacement?

Does anyone have any experience with these and is the general consensus that they work fine or that they should be avoided? It's cost £150 in total so far including the sensor and I'm unsure of what my next steps in getting the problem should be. Return the sensor for another one or try another supplier altogether for either a different aftermarket version or bite the bullet for a triple the price official Landy part?
