replacement keys and central locking fob

hi gang

just wondering how easy is it to pick up a spare set of keys and spare fob for my 03 freelanderapparently the key is chipped.

so far people i have spoken to itsounds mega expensive.
unless some one on here know where i can save a few quid

well i went to timsons shoe repairs as the do keys as i only have the one set and even if i could just get a key to open the door so my wife could get in if she needed to , well 2 keys later them money back , he did say that they do a programable key ,they are £40 but they could not get the keys.LR agent want £140 just for the key, i have a spare fob but can not programe it i have tried standing in front of it and press the button 5 times but it did not work.

Only works if you disconnect then reconnect the car battery ;)

Even then it would have to have been programmed to the ecu previously
 
Evening, having exactly the same fun with my 02 freelander. only 1 set of keys. Tried local auto locks, could not do land rover chipped keys. Went to main dealer and he wanted £110 for the key and chip then fifty pound to program the key to the car and then vat on top. Went to my local timpsons and he can do it all for £95 inc vat. They are gonna order the key and chip and the cars booked in for saturday.
