Currently doing a bit of a refurb on a 2005 TD4,
Have had what can probably be described as a great bank holiday weekend, managed to blag some time in my friends garage over the weekend to use the lifts and have done springs, suspension, brake lines, pads, discs, calipers etc (well OK it's been some evenings last week I'm not that good to get it done in a weekend) but most of the bits that needed done are complete. so onto the inside...
Have got carpets, someone to recover the seats but am really struggling to find a replacement gearknob for the auto gearbox. Doesn't need to be a genuine part - would rather but not fussed, and I'm really struggling to find any at a decent price. Found a wooden one for £180!!
Looked all over and really struggling, and I did find lots of videos on youtube where the bypassed the button lock so you can put anything on........and also no lock to stop you catching the lever whilst driving and knocking it into park....or reverse! Have to say I was surprised, do people really do this so they can put a cheap gear knob on!! Anyway thought I'd post and see if anyone can help, would rather steer clear of salvage as I'm trying to put new (or looks like new) on the inside
