Hi, quick question how do I replace this engine mount? do I need special tools or by the look of it just a screw under the wing accessing by taking the wheel arch off?

The K and L Series engines use the same mount (don't know about the other engines).

I replaced the mount on my L Series a couple of years ago. It was the older style (pre MY01) mount, but I should think the principles are the same.

I removed the lower tie bar then the nut off the top of the mount. I then jacked the engine up to clear the top of the mount and unbolted the mount from the chassis.

I had to unbolt other stuff to get access to the bolts - like AC pipes, just to move them out of the way.

Took a bit of time, but got it through the WOF (MOT).

Putting the original one back on after, because it was much better than the Bearmach replacement, was much quicker once you know what you're doing :D

I'd suggest having a read of Rave to see what that says.

Also anyone knows if KKB101914 fits on freelander? This is for mg zt rover 75 etc 1.8 engine, and it looks quite the same.
But half the price.

The AC pipes (I think it was them) run along where the mount is and get in the way of getting a socket on it - if I remember correctly that is. Its not a biggie, I just needed to unclamp them to shift them enough to get a socket on the bolt.

On the earlier version, the mount has a plate at the bottom with 2 holes for bolts to go through to fasten it to the chassis. Your one looks to have an inbuilt bolt that screws to the chassis - that tool presumably grips the mount so that you can turn it and unscrew it.

That is great news, cause I have those :D thanks ordered will impatiently wait for it.
Is the one on the gearbox side going shot usually as well? Those are hard to find.

I've heard of a couple of box mounts falling in the past. It's difficult to tell, unless you remove it though.

I have never changed the Hydro mount on a FL but have changed a few on the R40 K series & M47 diesel which are the same, its a case of removing the lower engine tie bar, use a trolley jack with a rubber support or a block of wood to take the weight of the engine, as it will need to be raised a little to aid the removal of the Hydro mount, A/C pipes will need to be loosened in that area too to help, few photos below.

once you gain access to the Hydro mount the special tool can be used, or a chisel, oil filter strap?
