Looking to sell my 90 in the near future, going over it has very few bad points bar the wings. The passenger side wing has a small dent but it's not totally noticeable however the drivers side wing is pretty dented at the front. Is it worth either replacing the wing or having it repaired before I sell it?

Especially since I plan to re-spray it before the sale.

Best pic I have at the minute -

(the headlight isnt bent in, just a trick of the camera)

Personally I wouldn't bother. The cost and time to replace unlikely to be reflected in the price. Unlikely to stop it selling as they are just dings and can be sorted by the proud new owner .

It is a really weird market at the moment, investment potential seems to have attracted new buyers, not all of whom see dents as battle honours. If you do some research on prices then work out what you would ask before versus after repair you should be able to get a better fix on whether it's worth the effort. If you are going to re-spray anyway then I would repair/ replace, if nothing else it removes a couple more reasons to chip the price in the inevitable " would you take an offer" negotiation.

If you're selling it modified as in the pics I wouldn't bother. It looks good to me, a Chelsea tractor it ain't. If somebody wants a shiny one they're not gonna be looking at one with snorkel/winch/steering guard/mt's etc. so I can't see a few dents is going to make any difference.

Personally, if it was mine, I'd remove all the extras and sell as a standard vehicle. Then either use the bits on your next one or sell it on. The extra bits seldom add any real value, unless it is a full blown hardcore off road, overland, winch champion monster truck beast!!!! People buying these vehicles tend to be the sort that like to put their own stamp on it.

Yes, looking at Ebay, Autotrader and the like, the highest prices seem to be commanded by the ones that look as standard as possible and are in good condition. If anything, having loads of accessories seems to depress prices. You see the odd one slathered in accessories where people are asking a really high price to recoup the cost of all the extras but they never seem to sell!
So if I were you I'd get as many of the accessories off as possible without leaving gaping holes and either save them for the next one or sell them separately.
TD5s seem to be quite collectible these days, so your depreciation over the time you've had it shouldn't be too bad at all.

Very true. The front light bars come off easy enough, the rest is pretty solidly attached. No chance the cage is coming off, suppose I could remove the snorkel. The rest won't fit a 110 so I'd sell it with it.

What do you think its worth plus a fresh lick of paint later in the year?
2002 85k, no known issues, runs like a dream.

I wouldn't worry about the cage, because it looks very like the ones that were factory fitted to some models (DUV100010 in the parts catalogue) but I wonder whether it might be worth refitting a standard bumper and sills.
It looks a bit like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVE...855444?hash=item1eb2354914:g:JIUAAOSwepJXVDGY
but that's got more miles than yours.
Or this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-LAND...308522?hash=item3d103b056a:g:VCwAAOSwBPNXSTU2
which has quite an optimistic price, but it's closer to yours in mileage.

As I keep saying, the 2002-2006 model TD5 is quite collectable and prices in the £11-15 K range seem pretty usual for good examples. Whether people actually get that much for them of course is more debatable.

I would repair the wings. It's not that tricky to get them off and remove the inner wing. The dents will largely tap out. If you are going to have it painted you will need to do some rubbing down. So I would tap the dents out, skim over with some body filler, rub it down and paint. Wings will look like new. Other than the cost of a small tin of body filler, the costs are negligible. It's more about if you have the time to do it.

Cheers. So £13 - £14k fair price? I did wonder about the sliders & bumper... Could sell the sliders and fit the bumper to the 110

Yeah new wing is £80 so possible to do

Why don't you try a paintless dent removal guy? I had my missus car done the other day, I could only see 6 bad car park dings but in total he found over 20!!!! It's never going to be perfect but they could improve it no end with little outlay

Was it a reasonable price? I've seen this sort of thing advertised but never tried it myself.
