Removing The Steering Wheel P38? Help Please

Ive just had our car tracked up and the guy said he has had to wined the track rod ends back into the center. now i need to move my steering wheel back into the correct position.
Ive got a copy of the workshop manual but it just says refer to the SRS section. and there is not one.

Has any one done this and could they help.

He's a prick normal thing to do is count the threads before you remove them and wind the new ones in the same number of threads. Your tracking is almost certain to be well out. You'll need to take it to a tyre dealer and get the tracking done.

you can adjust the front steering arm to move the steering wheel back straight as the tracking is done on the rear steering arm .just put the wheels straight and wind in track rod end to adjust steering wheel .you said he had done the tracking so that should be ok .cant remember which way to wind but you will see which way it moves.

if it was straight prior to having the rod end(s) done then just take it to be tracked otherwise your tires will wear out quick due to them not pointing square. Take it to somewhere with laser tracking/alignment setup. Usually between 20 and 30 pounds.

drewsp38 said he had the car tracked up not had new trackrod ends done so if the guy had to adjust the ends that should mean the tracking is correct ,moving the rear steering arm would transfer to front arm and move steering wheel this can be adjusted to move the steering wheel back to centre.

Thanks for getting back to me. I will try moving it back tomorrow with the rear rod and let you know how i get on.

I posted another thred today, describing how one of my HT Leads caught fire, i now think i know why, and if you have a P38 you may want to read this. please read the other thred
I removed the lead when i got home to see if there was a problem with the spark plug, and it was firing fine, i then checked the lead as it was new to see if there was a problem with it, and there wasent. Not only that but to say it had just caught fire there was no damage??? If this had caught fire from a faulty plug or break in the cable it would have melted first. but not a sign of any melting.
So i connected everything back up and started the car. after around 20 mins nothing. So i came in the house to get a 240v light and when i returned the cable had some how started to bet very greasy.
closer examination showed that the gearbox dipstick had popped out a little and the grease was infact Gearbox oil. running down the pipe, onto my spark plug lead and then onto the manifold.
I called my dad who has a discovery, and he told me that if your breather is blocked it can force oil back up the dipstick.
