OK, I think I am going to have to remove the alarm/immobiliser from my RRC softdash.

Reason being, I only have one remote which itself is slightly tempremental. If it goes, I'm stuck! I cannot find anywhere that sells compatible replacement remotes/fobs, so I think my only option is to remove the system entirely and fit an aftermarket immobiliser.

Could anyone email/PM me details on how to do this? I am assuming that with it being a Cat1 alarm this could be a bit of a pain, but I don't see what choice I have.

Ideally, I'd like to disable the alarm element and leave the immobiliser in place - reason being there is a slot in the armrest to plug the remote in to disable the immobiliser, but I currently have to sue the remote to unlock the car.

I appreciate the removal procedure should not be posted on a public forum, but if anyone can PM me an installation manual for the system that would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The attached is from the '95 model year (Could be similar)....

Looking at it, the Theft Unit Allows the Starter Relay to pull in and provide power to the starting circuit....

I am not electrical genius so it is pinch of salt time.....possible grounding this connection will pull the starter relay in.....

But I have no further clue as it depends on 'how' the theft unit pulls in the starter relay....earthing or providing a +12ve signal to the realy....

I have no probs posting this in public as the attached diagram is available in the 'ether' anyways....

Thanks Saint! I think that relates to the standard alarm system - the Conlog Cat1 was an optional extra and an add-on to this I believe.

I know a guy if your down this way matey, pm if you want the details. he is super busy becuase he is so good so I would book well in advance!

had a similar experience several years ago with my softdash except that I actually lost my fob while the RR was locked. Major PITA. These guys were able to sort out reprogrammed fobs.

Remote Key Fob Replacement

Having said that I didn't replace mine. They sell a get you out of trouble 'chip'. I wont say any more. PM me if you get stuck. If you're doing preventative actions get on to them for a fob.

Thanks SpudH, tried them already and they can't do anything with the conlog Cat1 system unfortunately!
