Its quite straight forward.
I've taken mine out of my Project P38.
Got rid of the old cloth and put the backer back in place.
I'll get round to re-covering it after the motor get through an MOT.
I cleaned all the old glue and foam off the backer using one of those Barbeque cleaning wire brush things, worked a treat.

When I had mine recovered I got a friend in to help me with the actual removal bit so we didn't crease it. Just a thought...
