Removing Air con using more fuel

Hi

This is one for the techs amongst you.

I have an 89 SE Vogue EFi Auto with air con, however, I have had the air con removed along with the second radiator, now my car seems to be using more fuel, oh it's petrol, is this common or do I now need the car set up again after removal?
