Hi, anyone ran with a siezed vc with the front prop removed? I need to use the vehicle and will not have chance to repair for about 2 months and 800 miles will I wreck anything doing this?

Thanks for that, I thaught it should be ok for a bit, what do you reckon on second hand vc bearing in mind I only do 5k a year, worth the risk or just bight the bullet and get a new one.

thanks for your opinion I will probably buy new as I normally do but having had the luck I had with the engine I bought off ebay ( a real peach compared to the lump that did not make it home on the day of purchase ) less than 100 miles and bang whoosh a cloud of oil and steam less than a mile from the driveway I might think new cv old transfer box and old zf should I go the whole way and for the extra £200 and renew transfer box then we have a reworked transfer ox old engine old diffs old zf auto and so i go on and before you know it you spend 3 days under the vehicle and £2300 and the only thing actually broken is the vc but hay ho who knows until it's fitted weather or not it is any good.

Transfer box is pretty reliable.
If you need to do the auto box, think about fitting a secondhand ZF4HP24 in place of the HP22, much stronger especially if you are towing and it's a simple swap.

I did not want to have the auto box or the transfer box out as they seem ok just the vcu seized and a bit of play in prop uj so no need to remove either box as things are thanks to all for your valued advise
