Hi,
new to RRs, how do I remove the towbal on my 03 L322, I have tried turning the knob to red and the tow ball gets looser but will not come out?

cheers Alan

Isnt there a key on the L322 towball? Usually you insert the key, turn it, then twist the red knob. If you dont have the key, you can remove the entire tow ball assembly, inluding the coupling for it, from the chassis mount, if that makes sense. The tow bar is in three main parts, the chassis mount, which is bolted to your chassis. That is the most permanent part (takes a fe hours to remove) then, a heavy (15kg) black coupling with a 2" square profile at one end, and a round hole at the other, slots into the chassis mount. This is held in by either one bolt (12 or 14mm IIRC), or by a L shaped bolt wioth an R clip. The third part is the actual swan neck locking ball. Like I said, if you dont have the key, just undo the one bolt in the centre, and remove the lot. I've had the coupling stolen in the past, so I always used to remove the lot just in case. Hope that helps

cheers for that,
I will look for a key hole, havnt seen one yet just a knob with red and green on it, when I twist it the swan neck becomes loose but will not come out
