after having my head thrashed for days fixing eas faults my atention has turned back to security
im thinking of getting an alarm with remote start for those cold 4am starts at work, but not sure if its even possable to bypass the factory imoblizer,
anyone know if its possable and how?

i dont think its possible,i wouldnt want to even think about trying to change the alarm system on a p38 everything is tied together.

It might be possible, but why would anyone want to - it's secured that tight down we can't get them going ourselves half the time ffs! :D:D:D

I would look at doing a remote control cab heater to do the job a lot safer and easier to fit wiithout upsetting the becm

think gavbriggs in here did something like that last year. do a search or pm him even.

Kenlowe make a "hot start" device that is basically an electrical heater that you plumb into the bottom hose, it has its own pump and given about 15 mins and a 240V supply it will warm your engine up to near enough operating temperature, no need to touch your security system either. Nice for you and even nicer for your engine!

I put a webasto petrol-burning pre heater in mine. It isn't too hard to do and uses less fuel than running the engine. Pricey though...
