Remote oil filter - are there different types?

I went to put a Mocal remote oil filter on the 3.9EFi today and it doesn't fit. The thread on the mushroom plate bit is to0 large (only just) for the filter thread.

Am I missing something or are there different sizes - I thought Rover V8s had the same type of filter through the range.

I also have a 3.9EFI and i developed a high performance engine oil filter so i know the answer....
yes all of the older Rover V8's have the same filter thread size - 3/4-16UNF-2B.
If your new one doesnt fit then maybe your supplier cocked up and gave you the wrong one by mistake...
