Over the last couple of weeks I've had some strange problems with the remote locking on the P38.
The first time, I locked the car as normal, did a bit of shopping, came back and the car refused to unlock on the remote. I could open it with the key but didn't have the EKA to get it running. Tried relocking with the key, then tried the remote again, but it still played dead, even tried re-synching the key but it made no difference.
Phoned Er Indoors for the code, and all ok. Got home and it wouldn't lock with the remote, only with the key. After leaving the car alone for 24 hrs, it locked and unlocked as normal with the remote.
The batteries in the remote are only about 4 months old, the red LED flashes as normal, and I dont get any remote battery warning messages on the dash.
Another recent symptom is the car will not always lock on the first attempt with the remote, but if I press unlock then lock it works ok.
Any ideas as to the cause????????........... remote fob, Receiver or ECU. all options are costly so was looking to narrow the field down a bit.
