Its that time of year again you might know its R4 the glowplug relay but I found it from the diagram on the fb lid.

Next question do you know what the resistance of all the glowplugs in parallel should be? I am getting about 1.9 Ohms which would give me a current of about 6 Amps for all the glowplugs (that sounds a bit weedy)

Also fuse F4 feeds it and cant see it in the fuse box? Just a black plastic cover.

The resistance of the glow plugs is generally below the accurate measurement of a DMM, requiring a specialist kind of resistance meter. It's generally better to measurement the current, but again you'd need a current shunt to measure the high current needed for the glow plugs. Each plug is about 1ohm, so will pull over 10 Amps.

The glow plug controller is on later models I think (post 2010)

I think you are right about measuring the current, I have an idea that I will post on here when I try it.

I bypassed the relay with my DMM (in current mode) and it read 14A initially dropping to about 6A after 6 seconds so looks like 1 or at best 2 of them are working.

It is booked into the garage for a new set of glow plugs next week. Disappointing as it had a set fitted at a Land Rover dealer only a couple of years back. I have read that Delphi glow plugs are good. Has anyone else had good or bad experiences with different makes?
