Freelander 1 red warning light to doors on sometimes

help please with my freelander 1 td4.sometimes my dash door warning light comes on all doors closed,back door and window workes ok but open and close back door the light will eventually go out.. any ideas please

Mine does this I think one of the locks is fauty. It happens more on cold wet damp days so it could be a faulty seal allowing some water to drip on to the electrics, I live with it for now as I have other issues that need seeing to first.

poor earth on door switch ?

It'll be a faulty door switch. Unfortunately the door switches are located in the door lock assembly of each door. There is a way to put the CCU into test mode, so the faulty switch can be identified.

The interior light has a (time out) function, which turns the lights out after 10 minutes if a door is left open.

As Nodge says, it'll probably be the tail door as the mechanisms are pathetically poor quality. Not a difficult job to replace but a bit fiddly, probably worth taking a punt on a used one.
