Hello (again )

"Red Lighting?" I hear you ask. Yes, and that's the question. How far can you drive your diesel or petrol 90 / 110 with the fuel gauge red lighting, or the needle at zero?

I seem to be able to drive for miles with no fuel, and I'm interested to see if anyone else's fuel gauge is that buggered

Mine starts flashing on corners when I've still got a 1/4 of a tank left. Once it comes on on the flat and stays on I reckon I can get about another 50 miles but I've never stretched it to the point of running out. It's an important question if like me you hate stopping for diesel. It's not the paying for it, just the pain in the arse of actually filling up:D

Paying for it is the bit that I don't like. I only have a little part time job - still at school! Bloody Government

My fuel light started flashing at half full and was so annoying I took the bulb out. When I put a new tank on the gauge was on the red bit and I drained about a gallon of fuel out of the old tank.

ive got a 1985 2.5 n/a stationwagon 90... the other week i was coming back from bodmin. the light does the aformentioned on/off roaund corners and up hills. when i got onto the M5 i carried on going till the light was solid and didnt flicker. i must have done only about 20-25miles. the neddle hardly moved! i pulled in and filled to the brim. it took 47.55l. i believe the tanks on 90 SW are 45l so i musta been freaking low! i guess the extra is taken up in the filler pipework and neck as it is nearly 3" wide.
