I have finally realised a long time ambition to own a Landrover 4x4 with PAS. It is a freelander 2004MY. I've had it for a week now, and it does go much faster than I had anticipated, having previously owned a 2.0L Alfa 75, and various V8 TVRs. I have a few little niggles to fix, such as thermostat, door pins and reversing sensor, but I must say the VCU does seem to be working, the corning is surprisingly good for such a huge beast, a little understeer at first, and then the rear grips in, pretty pleased with it for the money. And of course lots of cup holders everywhere.

Yes, it is a diesel. TD4. I did have a brief think about a 1.8 but it has a timing belt, and I do not like engines with timing belts.
