Evening one and all, hope everyone is doing well.

Well as the title states I was after any past experiences or knowledge about classification on the log book of a commercial 110. All I can find on previous threads is about the LEZ in the London area which doesn't affect me.

My 110 is the 3 door commercial but I am putting windows and seats in the back. The questions I have are will I have to reclassify this as it will no longer be a van or used as one. Or is it just best for me to do it if possible as insurance would be cheaper?!?

Any help most appreciated. Cheers all in advance.

Ok mate. Cheers. We all know how slimey these insurance companies are. More than happy to snatch the money from your hand but the second they have to give anything back they look for any excuse not to and I'm concerned that might be the excuse they need to wriggle out of coughing up.

I was with Adrian Flux at the time and they didn't seem to bothered as long as I'd declared all the modifications I'd done. I never got round to fitting the seats in the end though. The windows are nice to have though.

Yea I've spotted some sliding ones like in the rear of a county. Go for about £170 new for a pair plus the template to cut out. As for seating I was just going to go for one 3 man bench along one side and a bit of shelving/ storage on the other.

My windows were from Masai in Lichfield and seem pretty good quality, I also fitted some alpine windows. I'd check again with your insurance as I don't know the implications of having a none forward facing bench seat, presumably you wouldn't be using three point seat belts?

Looks good. No it'd be the lap belts that they come with. Is that another implication? I assumed it would be alright as that's how Land Rover sell them??

I think it would be a problem on a brand new thing but mines 1998 so don't think it's a problem. They where fitted to vehicles of that year so I think I have to go by the rules of the year my lanny was produced. There's a lot of 'thinks' there and I'm by no means sure. Haha.

Is it possible to get a vehicle re classified properly with the DVLA?
For instance if you took out the rear seats etc from a SW, fitted a bulkhead, and blacked out the side windows, could it be re classified as a van?
Which would mean of course paying less road tax.

Well I know people do it with vans when converted into motor homes. Was just wondering if it worked the other way when a van is no longer a van and just a car.

Hello everybody. Well the work continues to sort the 110 out. I managed to get some second hand puma rear sliding windows on eBay. I was wondering if anybody else had fitted these. I know most rear windows are fitted with rivets but these have no holes for rivets. I know I can simply drill and rivet but I was just wondering if anybody has fitted these to their lanny and how it was done or if u are lucky enough to have a puma how are the fixed? Cheers all.

I fitted new puma windows in mine, Bonded them in with tiger seal ! Have yours got the foam still on the frame ? I ran the tiger seal inside that and cut wooden wedges to hold the side panel skin hard up against the window frame and seal.

PS went to Main dealers and asked the salesman if it was ok to take the measurements off a sales car
