...And are now living north of Bradford! (Have been a member of the site for a little while but not really active...)

My wife and I have come over to live close to her family in York.

We've bought a Disco 300tdi, which I'm planning to do up to be a modestly capable off-roader, and I'm keen to get out and explore greenlanes around Yorkshire.

As is absolutely expected, there are a number of (mostly) little things that need fixing up on the old girl, so I will be humbly asking for some assistance to diagnose and fix a few of the issues.

Look forward to chatting with everyone!

Swap "north of bratford" for Otley or Menston - anywhere but bratford ! ;)

Welcome from Barnsley... :)

Lol, folks the grass is always greener....!

I'm not going to make any comments on the demographics, politics, ethnic diversity or otherwise of Bradford. But one thing I will say, THE CURRIES ARE FANTASTIC

All joking aside, we truly are enjoying it here, and don't think that the locals complaints are fully justified.

We do come from a great part of the world, and will no doubt return there before too long, but while we're here we'll enjoy the highlights of the UK that we don't get at home (yes, there are some!)

Question - is anyone here part of the Yorkshire landrover owners club?

PS. would love to meet up with anyone local to discover local greenlanes - they'd have to be pretty tame as the old girl is still stock standard at the moment.

Dark side...nope, the north side - definitely the bright side! We're just down the road from Dick Hudsons pub (everyone around here seems to know where that is) on the moors.

Cheers for the heads up - I'll keep an eye on the laning section.

At the mo even the diff lock is not working (seized selector shaft) so I think I'd better get that sorted before getting too adventurous.

Read the header and thought wtf, NZ to Bradford:confused2:. Family is always going to pull you closer at some point. Enjoy the site, lots of info here as said. A set of decent tyres and you'll notice a big difference in the Disco, very capable and more comfortable than a 'tratter'.
