I'm refurbishing the axles on my 1998 90.
Will be fitting new poly bushes.

Are the britpart ones any good?
 
i fitted the britpart yellow ones, lasted around 3 months, swapped for the orange genuine polybush, been in 18 months now with no problems to report, and thats with some heavy offroading
 
I wouldn't touch Britpart if I were you.

I fitted a set of Flo-Flex bushes about 4 years ago because they were on offer at a show and they have held up well but some are starting to deteriorate now. Most people seem to recommend Polybush, Super Pro or genuine LR metalastic bushes. The latter will require a press to fit however.
 
Got super pro on my disco 2 and they're very good

Got britpart on my 90 and to be honest they seem very good and they're were a hall of a lot cheaper. I've fitted many britpart ones to customer mainly gamekeepers and they've been fine. Think they come with a two year warranty don't they

I'm not sure, but it depends if you're happy to have to refit them all after 3/6/9 months. It's not just the cost of replacement parts, but also the time cost of having to repeat work over and over again.
 
I've successfully used genuine poly bushes on a lot of cars, but these are £200
For the whole vehicle...

I could buy a press.....

I have polybush orange as well, had em about three years and they have been good, vehicle is off-road every day on the farm, and sometimes laning too.

Ive had polybushed series before, also working vehicles, and no problems at all.

I would get the premium quality ones every time, not risk Britpart! :eek:
 
I have had Britpart yellow bushes on mine for going on five years. I haven't had any problems with them at all. Beginning of this year did a trip across Morocco through the desert where we ended up doing some serious off roading which wasn't planned, we got lost. Mines been used for wading etc, They have been fine. In fact I had forgotten all about them until I red this thread. Some Britpart stuff is best to avoid but I don't see any problem with these. You can see some of the terrain we covered below: Oh, and mine is used regularly on lanes and in the forest.

I've had britpart yellow ones on my rangie, and they do seem to be the only britpart bits that haven't failed ( apart from the panhard rod ones).

But I've wised up since then, and realise that some bits can be ok from britpart ( like washers and pressed steel bits ( stuff they can't really get wrong! ). the trick is to work out which bits not to get from them.

I've used only genuine poly bushes on saabs for years, and they are brilliant. Especially when you are able to change a bush without a press - this keeps some jobs manageable, like rear suspension arms and front sub frames, that would be a much bigger job if you had to use a press.

But I do confess to being drawn to the britpart poly bush kit for a little over £60.

I... Must... Resist........
