Rear Wiper Switch Wiring Colours

Hi there,

I'm fitting the roof bar and lights to my '95 Disco and wanted to use one of the spare holes for switches just below the rear wiper switch next to the instruments.

I got a switch from a breakers and took the plug as well so I could use it to connect with.

It is a rear screen wiper switch and has the following 4 wires: black, red & brown, orange & blue, green.

Am I right in thinking that the black is an earth, the red & brown is the feed to the switch and the green is the output to the device?

Any advice much appreciated, Max

1. black earth, 2. red/brown illumination, 3. orange/blue multi function unit and 4. green/light green power, according to my wiring diagram.

Yep that's what I figured it out as when I started playing with wires,
Must get a new multimeter!
