Hi , the reAr wiper on my discovery 2 doesn't work at all though I think I can hear the relay clicking behind the binnacle switch, anyone know wher to start looking? Also the intermittent front wiper is very sporadic though the other two functions are fine. Are the two faults connected? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Not really

Remove wiper and large nut holding motor spindle to door
Remove internal door handle (2 bolts) remove rear door speaker if fitted, door card off 2 bolts holding motor in place
unplug. You could try and run the motor connecting it to the battery.
I bought a 2nd hand one of Ebay as it was genuine rather than buy a new pattern part

there is a common point between the rear and front intermittent wiping and that's the BCU, better rule out the simple things first and if no joy we'll speak then cos it's complicated, for the rear check fuse F18 interior fusebox to be ruled out, you should check with multimeter if there is feed in the motor's plug while the relay is clicking before you bo for the motor

The rear wiper motor never worked on my D2,took it off the door to find it was rusted solid, replaced it with a known good one,job sorted.
Had the same problem on my 2002 D2. Removed wiper from door, motor working ok, found shaft going through door was seized.. Cleaned up with contact cleaner, refilled geardrive with grease, refitted and lubed shaft. Spray occasionally with spray grease.
All working perfectly.
