Hi All,

I've been searching Google for days and still can't get a definitive answer I've found 2 replacement Part numbers for this but I'm not 100% sure which one I need its either the STC3316 or DLB101640. Now according to most sites the STC3316 only goes up to MA vins (mine is TA) from there some say DLB101640 is for MA onward but some sites say it is for the Disco 2 only and some sites say the STC3316 is for MA onward too so as you can guess I'm quite confused and as there is nearly £100 difference in the cost I'm hoping its the DLB101640 as a lot of sites quote is for the Disco 1 MA onward. If someone can help I'd be grateful.

Also the one I've taken out doesn't seem to be stamped with a part number I can see but I'm not sure where to look, I took the back off and think its completely gone the worm gear still goes round unfortunately all the time (i think its trying to return to the off/down position) but can't move the wiper arm because from the looks of it the nylon gear that moves the wiper has had most of its teeth ground down to a U shape and won't mesh with the worm gear anymore :(

Thanks,

Ash

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply, looked at the link and that confused me even more until i realised that diagram was for the range rover but the part number I saw did allow me to recognise the part number on the motor I currently have which is AMR3872 which according to the John Craddock site and lrdirect site has been superseded by DLB101640 which happily is the cheaper of the two :)

edit:
The second of your links is the right one for mine and confirms the part number and replacement. Thank you for your help and the link to the parts book I think that will be very useful

Many thanks,

Ash

Price from Craddock looks ok, compared to used ones from Ebay.
Did your old one just get slower and slower and then just seize up?
They have an issue whereby water slowly migrates down the shaft and seizes it up.
I spent a pleasant couple of hours (because Im a bit skint) stripping my one down and cleaning it, works great now!
When you buy it, order replacement plastic "studs" for the interior trim panel, as they seem to break very easily when the panel is pulled off.

Hi markomate2,

Unfortunately I don't know the circumstances of how it died, when I got the Landy it wasn't working or trying to work so I checked and replaced the fuse and then the motor started whirring but no movement. So I took it out thinking that it was just seized like yours but found that the big nylon gear's teeth had actually been ground down into a U shape by the worm gear so no longer make contact on at least part of it :( been trying local and not so local scrappies for a replacement but none of them seem to have any Disco 1's in or at least with the part I need.

Thanks for the tip on the trim panel studs I plan to get some unlike one of the previous owners of my Landy who secured it back on by drilling holes and screwing it to the tailgate with self-tappers hahah. With 20 years and 8 previous owners she's had some strange changes and bad work done to her heh. only just realised that the EGR was removed and I've found a large badly made hole on the inside of the wing where there used to be a snorkel, so bad that when it was drilled they drilled straight into the washer bottle
