The rear wiper on my TD5 doesnt contact with the top of the window - only the bottom.

I've changed the blade (obviously) but no joy.

Do ya think the outer door skin has been bent by the wheel weight? Thats the only think I can think of.

i had this problem and found that the arm had broken at its hinge, possibly from being cloated with the spare wheel.
have a look and see if it is catching on the window rubber at the bottom, if it is it will push the wiper out at the top.

I had the same problem. I firstly changed the blade like you have, it was still the same. I removed the arm, inspected it and could find nothing wrong with it. After putting it back on it was still the same. I think they wear on the pivot so that the pressure of the spring isn't applied accross the whole area of the blade.

I ended up buying a new arm from Landrover, cost about £16-00 and the problem is now solved.:)

Well I've just bought a new wiper arm to fit.

Can anyone tell me where the washer pipe disconnects? The new arm comes with a new washer pipe etc, but I'm not sure where to split the one thats on the tailgate.

Cheers

Ignore all that - took door skin off and now got wiper fitted - bloomin bits of broken door trim clip everywhere mind :)

Little better on the wiper, but not cured yet.

Thanks for all suggestions.

too late with the reply but "dont remove the door fittings"

cut the pipe leaving about 4" sticking out of the door.
connect the new pipe to this using a one way valve pipe connector.
jobs a good un.

sorry !!!!!

I have this problem too so will whip the spare wheel off and investigate at the weekend.
I've changed the wiper blade with no improvement so let's see what else I find.
Any other suggestions apart from the above (and someone must have had the same problem in the last eight years) appreciated...

Had the same problem. New wiper arm made no difference. On a whim I "fitted" the blade the wrong way round (it doesn't clip in properly. Cable tie to hold in place. Now clears the whole window. Would love to know how to fix properly but at least I can now see out the back!

Thanks - changing the wiper arm made 'little difference' for Congo and none for you so I don't think I'll go down that route unless I fond something obviously wrong with mine.
I'll have a look at reversing it - I'm pretty handy with cable ties. Maybe even fitting a cheaper blade in the hope that it is less rigid?
