rear wipe switch

The bulb has blown on my rear wipe switch, can they be bought or are they a part of the switch?

The bulbs are separate.
Just pull the switch out you will see the bulb in the side of the body. Get them from halfords or most motor factors.

Got the bulb and holder out, broke bulb trying to seperate the two, looks like the bulb and holder are one unit, is this correct ? took holder and what was left of the bulb to Halfrauds but they don't sell them. Is this a dealer order only?

The bulbs and base are one piece.
Surprised you can't get them from halfords, I'm sure I got my last ones from them. They aren't expensive if you have to go to a dealer.

Correct, and it's a dealer part STC1877 Orange or STC1878 Green that's only for a 300 series switch.

Do Halfords know what a Discovery is.

I had 4 bulbs out on my dash (disco 95). I went to a model and toy shop and brought them at 45p each, there called grain of rice bulbs. Then just unwind the wire of the bulb from the holder and wind the new one on. Hope this helps regards Steve.
