Rear Window

I have a problem with the rear window on Freelander 1.8 petrol 2002
I fitted a new battery and tried to go through the recalibration procedure but my window doesn't go right down. I have to raise it when the alarm is activated, by the key in the back door.
When I turn off the alarm the rear window lowers to about 6 inches short of retraction. Any ideas PLEASE as I have to drive with thw rear window open!!!

Definately sounds like the window calibration is wrong. First thing to do is to try re-calibrating. Cut the battery for 10 seconds, then reconnect. The window should fully open. Now use the dash switch to fully close it. All should then be well. If not then the best thing to do is to do a search on here for 'rear window'. It features quite regularly and your type of problem is not uncommon.
