Hey all, newbie to the forum so go easy on me;)

Been stripping the rear end of my 90 to do some chassis repairs, and when i removed the tub from the seat box there was a seal running the length of it. Is this seal a special part or is it just seam sealer or Hylomar applied before rebuilding?

Also, are there special seals for the roof to windscreen frame etc or will a sealant do the same job?

there's a chap that does all the landy and classic car shows and sells nowt but seals and ruber/neophrene profiles and seals. Can't remember his name but google will find him or someone doing the same. Also LRseries or similar will have the proper seals.

cheers for the info dude,

So i couldn't use hylomar or something similar?

Ya could RTV silicone is the best way to go if ya wanna use sealant. or go to glazing suppliers Solaglas is good and get some glazing tape it's available in various widths and thicknesses and is double sided and sticks like **** to a blanket. It's designed to stick glass in wood or metal frames bit like putty on a roll. lovely stuff.

The correct stuff is available in strips from LR but personally I used a butyl sealant in a tube with excellent results.
